Saving energy is more important than ever before. With climate change being an ever-present threat, we must find ways to use energy more efficiently and sustainably. That’s where green technology comes in. Green technology is all about creating technologies and processes that are environmentally friendly and sustainable. And one man who is leading the charge in this area is Professor Martin Green from UNSW Sydney.

Professor Green has made a breakthrough in solar technology that is having a huge impact on the way we generate, store, and use energy. His innovation has led to a drastic reduction in the cost of solar energy, making it more accessible and affordable for everyone. This is hugely important, as it means that we can rely less on fossil fuels and other non-renewable sources of energy. What’s more, Professor Green’s invention is already making a difference in people’s lives across the globe. It’s estimated that his technology has already benefitted billions of people around the world – improving access to clean energy and helping to reduce our carbon footprint. For his work in this area, Professor Green was awarded the 2022 Millennium Technology Prize by Technology Academy Finland.

The Millennium Innovation Forum – which was held on October 25-26, 2022 – celebrated Professor Green’s achievement and explored how new technology can help solve some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Experts from around the world where gather at the Forum for discussions on how we can use technology to create a more sustainable future for all.
